Heatsink Fan Cleaning/Removal-

Level of Difficulty – 1/5
Materials Needed:
- Screwdriver set
- Compressed Air
- 30 minutes
Why clean your heatsink fan on your laptop? Simple, if you don’t real problems can be on your way. On the laptop that I am actually writing this blog from I had problems with it overheating and then shutting off. After I dismantled the back cover, removed the heatsink and thoroughly CLEANED it and the grill of all dust (I literally pulled out clumps of dust) I booted it up and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 on it and it continues to run fine.
Doing this can really breathe life into a laptop, I suggest that for PC owners this be done every few months; although the cleaning can be dependent on how much the machine is used.
